Born and raised in Saskatchewan, Carla moved to Nanaimo in 1991 and has made Vancouver Island her home ever since. She helped run the family business for nearly 20 years, gaining experience in the service, construction and land development industries. She began working in public practice in 2002, and has been with Johnston, Johnston & Associates Ltd. since 2011, becoming a partner in the firm in 2014. Carla has worked with clients in a wide range of industries and has extensive experience assisting them in all their corporate and personal needs, such as financial statement preparation, tax planning, estate planning, corporate reorganizations, business valuations, GST and other government filings, audits, and management consultation. As a long time business owner herself, she understands her clients needs and is dedicated to helping them achieve their goals.

Carla earned a Bachelor of Education degree at the University of Saskatchewan and a Business Diploma in Accounting from Vancouver Island University prior to obtaining her Certified General Accountant designation in 2010. She has been involved as treasurer and manager for various sports teams over the years. In her spare time, Carla enjoys running, hiking, kayaking, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
